Critical Infrastructure Security without False Positives - CapEx and OpEx game changers

In Q4 2025, Perimeter Protection launched a beta trial with a large renewable energy operator facing repeated copper theft at multiple remote sites—each incident costing $100K+ in repairs and taking facilities offline for months.

Previous camera solutions failed for one reason: false positives. Wildlife, environmental motion, and noise overwhelmed the command center.

Perimeter Protection deployed a 26-camera, fully off-grid monitored video solution in a 6-hour installation window and made operational the same day—with no trenching, permits, or construction.

Key results over the 3-week trial:

  • 3,105 events generated for AI-screening

  • 201 alarms sent to command center

  • 100% of those alarms were accurately sent to C4, showing contractors on site for work during normal business hours.

  • 100% of all  false positives were blocked

  • Battery levels remained between 82-100%, with projected 4-6 months battery runtime.

With no overnight alarms in the first two weeks, the client questioned the operational integrity of the system.  They were used to getting false positives as a way of knowing the solution was ‘working’. They decided to send a guard —with a dog—to the site to test the system after dark.  The result was the turning point in their search for a solution.
✔️ Guard detected immediately ❌ Dog ignored

After a year of searching for a camera solution they found it from Perimeter Protection.

Result: the client is now hardening multiple high risk locations throughout their base.

Real World Deployment: RapidDeployMobile™

Several of Los Angeles’ oldest cemeteries were experiencing repeated vandalism and theft of bronze plaques. Because these sites have no power or infrastructure, criminals knew they could return undetected.

After learning of the issue from a news story aired in January 2024 regarding the theft of 100 headstones and 592 name plates, Perimeter Protection contacted the cemetery owner, surveyed the multi-acre property, and offered a 6 month - loan of a RapidDeployMobile system with four monitored cameras, a cellular bridge, and six-month monitoring service. The system was installed in about an hour, with equipment concealed in bushes and trees.

Perimeter also coordinated with the local police department in advance, planning a response strategy including exact dispatch locations.

Within a few weeks, the system detected a trespasser carrying demolition tools and immediately began to remove headstones. Perimeter’s central station quickly notified the police department. Although the suspect fled, the incident prevented theft with only minor damage.  For the first time, investigators had clear images of the suspects.

Local news aired the images, helping generate leads and sending a clear deterrent message. Perimeter kept the system in place for a total of 9 months with no further incidents.

Since the removal of the loaner system, the owner elected to install a residential grade wifi camera solution.  They would do their own  monitoring.

Since then, three significant vandalism and theft incidents took place impacting hundreds of gravesites.  While the  owner’s cameras recorded the activities, alerts were not picked up in time, and hence, there were no police dispatches during the actual crime.

Unfortunately the decision to save monitoring costs led to hundreds of thousands of dollars in losses.

Wireless Camera Solution: Option 3

Rapid Rise River Monitor

What it is:

  • A wireless flood‑detection system that triggers alerts, activates sirens and provides real‑time camera views to central station for timely alerting of authorities and response teams.

How it works:

  • Off‑grid flood sensors paired with AI and IOT intelligence.

  • When flood sensors trigger: multiple sirens alert residents.

  • Camera sends pictures to central station to review the local issue.

  • Central station contacts the pre-defined first responders and camp/government entities.

  • Comes standard with 24x7 professional monitoring.

  • Optional self‑monitoring.

Where it’s used:

  • Along rivers, levees, roadways, underpasses, stormwater systems, industrial facilities, flood-prone communities and campsites.

Real World Deployment: Long Range and 360° Viewing Cameras

In 2019, Perimeter Protection deployed a HALO (High Activity Location Observation) public-safety camera network for a U.S city with a population under 75,000. The system includes more than 100 cameras monitoring parks, intersections, high-crime areas, city facilities, and other public spaces.

The program also integrates Non-City-Owned (NCO) cameras, allowing private businesses to voluntarily connect their cameras to the network. Today, approximately 80% of the cameras are city-owned and 20% privately owned, expanding coverage through public-private collaboration.

Cameras record 24/7 and are accessible to police, while selected locations are actively monitored by Perimeter Protection’s central station, which dispatches officers when suspicious activity occurs.

In 2024 alone, the system generated 25,000 monitored observations, resulting in 150 police dispatches and 120 officer contacts, helping prevent crimes and support investigations involving shootings, burglaries, and assaults.

Now entering its seventh year, the HALO system continues delivering strong ROI, with lifetime warranty coverage ensuring cameras are replaced with upgraded technology when needed.

Communities interested in deploying monitored public-safety camera networks should contact Perimeter Protection’s to learn how smart surveillance is a force multiplier in strengthening safety across their city.
